10 Miles and a Drop of 7000 Vertical Feet – Meet the World’s Longest Alpine Ski Race
Open only to amateurs, the Inferno Mürren is a Swiss alpine ski race with a 55 year history. The Inferno was founded by a bunch of ski-crazy Englishmen lead by Sir Arnold Lunn. The first course record of 72 minutes was set in 1928
Today, the Inferno is held every January and “limited” to “only” 1800 skiers. The 1992 course record came in at less than 14 minutes.
