When we first drove down the driveway and saw the view we knew this would be a great vacation. Then when we got in the house, it got even better. Here`s what I like about the location: everything! Here`s what I like about the house: everything! We feel very fortunate to have sampled this wonderful place. - The Dibbles - first renters of Crockett`s Beach Cottage in 2010.
Of 150 properties more or less offered by On the Water in Maine, this is the one we always said to inquiring guests that we would stay at ourselves for vacation. In our opinion, it`s the best sandy beach cottage available for rent in Owls Head! As the last cottage at the end of a dead end private driveway shared with two other smaller cottages, this property is very private, yet shares one of the best sandy beaches in the area. (The sandy part is not accessible when the tide is high, but is accessible 20 hours out of each day).
Leave the living room french doors open to the beach and relax in the seaside cottage atmosphere to the waves crashing while reading your favorite book. Enjoy views from the dining room as well. With the master bedroom windows open, the sound of crashing waves will sooth you to sleep.
Easily keep an eye on your kids as they swim and build sand castles on the beach, or join them flying a kite or playing Frisbee on the large mowed lawn area of the property.
In the evening, enjoy the barbecue grill on the side deck while watching boats travel by.
A fire-pit at the beach edge can endlessly burn driftwood off the beach if you choose. Perfect for evenings roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.

No Smoking is permitted anywhere on or inside of any of our rental properties nor are those who may partake in tobacco smoking allowed to occupy any of our properties.
Occupancy may not exceed what is posted for each home. Maximum occupancy could include infants and children.
Boat Rentals and other amenities offered through On the Water in Maine Inc. are not available at all the properties we offer for rent. Boat Rentals through Maine Watercraft Rentals Inc. are offered Sunday morning to Friday after 4pm and include free delivery to the property. Check with an agent to find out what boats are available to rent at this property, or, when you process the booking here online, only the boats available for the property will be listed as available to rent.
