For a completely relaxing vacation set in incredible natural beauty, come to Priello, a 1600's Tuscan, flagstone, fully restored farmhouse. Set in the hills with breathtaking views stretching thirty miles down the Tiber Valley, this fully licensed, luxury rental property is the perfect spot to explore relatively undiscovered (by the tourist!) hill towns, or just lie by the swimming pool and spend the day looking at the views!
The farmhouse has five very comfortable bedrooms, with sleeping for twelve. There are five beautifully tiled and modern bathrooms, a grand living room with an old fireplace, and an airy dining room with a picture window offering the best view in the valley. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with all the cookery and table settings for twelve and a dishwasher!
The large rooms feature exposed beams, terracotta floors, and lovely views from every window. Outside there are stone terraces, and stairways and walkways leading around the house to various sitting levels -- and the magnificent swimming pool. There are four outside eating areas, as well as a stone barbecue.
The property is set on 50 acres, and is backed up to a state forest of over 30,000 acres, offering great opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. The closest neighbor is one quarter mile away and not in sight, so privacy and tranquility surround. Yet we are only five minutes from the nearest restaurant, and just ten minutes from the local village where the artist Michelangelo was born.
Within short drives are daily farmers markets, award-winning restaurants, antique fairs, and of course, the incredible art and beautiful villages for which Tuscany is known.
As for the farm, chickens are kept (well out of view of the house) for fresh eggs and the occasional barbecue. A flock of sheep keep the grass mowed and there are horses for wonderful riding through the hills. There are several large organic vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, olive groves, chestnut woods, and hay fields for walking through. Children are more than welcome, and are never bored! Well-behaved pets are welcome to sleep outside.
Daily maid services can be arranged, if desired, and prepared meals on the balcony (with advanced notice) and babysitting can be arranged to make your vacation as carefree as you like!
